Technical Recommendation Line Circuit LED Light Strip Circuit Protection Method?
Jan 11, 2019

There are three most common methods for maintaining the line LED light strip. Use the transient voltage to press the diode, select the self-recovery fuse, and use the fuse in the maintenance LED circuit. Let's make a separate introduction:

Using transient voltage to press the diode

Transient Voltage Pressing the diode is a high performance maintenance device in the form of a diode. When its north and south poles are subjected to reverse transient high energy shock, the high resistance between the north and south poles can be reduced to low resistance at a very short time of 10 minus 12 power seconds, absorbing up to several kilowatts. The surge power, the voltage clamp between the North and South poles in a predetermined voltage value, useful to maintain the fine element equipment in the electronic circuit. Transient voltage pressing 捺 diode has the advantages of fast answer time, large transient power, low leakage current, good consistency of breakdown voltage error, easy control of clamp voltage, no damage limit and small volume. However, in actual use, the electronic component technology network users found that it is not simple to find TVS equipment that meets the demand voltage value. The damage of the LED light source is mainly caused by overheating inside the chip due to excessive current. TVS can only detect overvoltages and cannot detect overcurrents. It is difficult to grasp the proper voltage maintenance point, and it is difficult to use this equipment in practice.

Select self-healing fuse

The self-healing fuse is also called a polymer polymer positive temperature thermistor PTC, and is composed of a polymer and conductive particles. After special processing, the conductive particles form a chain-like conductive path in the polymer. When the normal operating current passes (or the component is at normal ambient temperature), the PTC self-healing fuse is in a low-resistance condition; when there is an abnormal overcurrent in the circuit (or the ambient temperature rises), the large current (or the ambient temperature rises) The heat generated causes the polymer to swell rapidly, which cuts off the conductive path formed by the conductive particles. The PTC self-healing fuse is in a high-resistance condition; when the overcurrent (over-temperature condition) in the circuit is not seen, the polymer cools and the volume The rehabilitation is normal, during which the conductive particles reconstitute the conductive path, and the PTC self-recovery fuse is in an initial low resistance state. In the normal working condition, the heat from the rehabilitation fuse is very small, and in the abnormal working condition, its heat is very high, which limits the current passing through it, and then plays a maintenance role. In the detailed circuit. Branch maintenance. Usually LED lights are dividends and many serial branches. We can add a PTC component in front of each branch to maintain. The advantages of this method are high accuracy and good maintenance reliability. Overall maintenance. A PTC component is attached to the front of all the beads to maintain the entire lamp. The advantage of this method is that it is simple and does not take up volume. Regarding civilian products, the results of such maintenance in practice are still satisfactory.

Maintenance fuses in LED circuits

Since the fuse is disposable, and the response speed is slow, the effect is poor, and the operation is troublesome, the fuse is not suitable for use in the LED light product, since the LED light is now mainly in the city's brilliance engineering and lighting engineering. It requires LED maintenance circuit to be very strict: when the normal operating current is exceeded, the maintenance can be started immediately, the LED power supply path is disconnected, the LED and the power supply can be maintained, and the power can be actively recovered after the whole lamp is normal. Does not affect LED operation.
