ata showed that Nationstar Optoelectronics added a "Micro LED concept". Previously, Nationstar Optoelectronics' conventional concepts also included: ultra-clear video, MiniLED, energy-saving lighting, S&P Dow Jones A shares, third-generation semiconductors Wait.

It is reported that in recent years, Nationstar Optoelectronics is actively promoting the development of Micro LED business in all aspects, including product research and development, technical patent reserves, production, and enterprise cooperation. The addition of this Micro LED concept may mean that Nationstar Optoelectronics has completed The initial layout of the Micro LED business.

It is understood that in 2018, National Star Optoelectronics established the Micro & Mini LED Research Center to carry out the technical reserve of Micro/Mini LED.

In June 2020, National Star Optoelectronics launched the first-generation Micro LED product nStar I, which uses glass substrate technology, full-color display, and a transparency of 60%.

In October 2021, National Star Optoelectronics successfully developed a high-consistency pixel-based quantum dot color conversion color film preparation technology, which effectively solved the technical pain points of low micro LED red light chip yield, low light efficiency, and high difficulty in mass transfer. Further promote the research and development of high-resolution Micro LED full-color display.

In terms of patented technology, by the end of 2021, Nationstar has applied for a total of 202 domestic and foreign patents in the field of Mini/Micro LED. In January this year, Nationstar obtained 5 patents in the field of Mini/Micro LED technology. In April of the same year, Nationstar announced that it had received 9 invention patent certificates issued by the State Intellectual Property Office, 6 of which involved patents in the field of Mini/Micro LED technology.

In terms of production capacity, the first phase of the National Star Optoelectronics Geely Industrial Park project is progressing in an orderly manner, and the capping of the main structure was completed in February this year. The project focuses on the production of Mini & Micro LED ultra-high-definition displays, new optoelectronic devices and applications, and third-generation Power semiconductors and other products.

In terms of cooperation, in May this year, National Star Optoelectronics and Huawei signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement. The two parties plan to jointly build a joint innovation center to carry out all-round development in various niche segments of optoelectronic semiconductors and power semiconductors such as Mini/Micro LED and power devices. , deep cooperation.

Automotive products have entered the supply chain of many car companies

While actively deploying the Micro LED business, the progress of Nationstar Optoelectronics in the automotive business is also attracting attention.

On June 9th, Nationstar Optoelectronics answered questions about the company's automotive business on the investor interactive platform. Nationstar Optoelectronics stated that the company continued to deepen its efforts in the field of automotive LEDs and actively developed the automotive business sector. From LED light source devices to application modules and display modules, the company's products have entered the supply chain of many car companies, and it is also actively cooperating with customers to carry out relevant product verification work.

It is understood that Nationstar Optoelectronics adopts the method of joint development with international and domestic automotive lighting companies in the automotive LED lighting business. After years of polishing, Nationstar Optoelectronics has formed a large leading advantage in the field of automotive lighting.

In the first quarter of 2022, Nationstar's LED automotive business grew rapidly, with a year-on-year increase of 246.7% in the number of shipments of pre-installed automotive devices, and a 254.9% increase in shipment value.

In addition, Nationstar Optoelectronics stated that the company's third-generation semi-product SiC power discrete device products and GaN-DFN devices can be used in automotive charging piles and other fields. Currently, it is in the process of receiving small batches of orders and testing samples from customers. The next step is Nationstar Optoelectronics will seize the opportunity of domestic substitution and further expand the business scale of the automotive market.
