Advanced Facilities Efficient ProductionImis Osram today announced a partnership with Revolution Microelectronics, a US provider of controlled agricultural environmental solutions, to provide plant lighting solutions with the OSLON®Square platform and OSLON® SSL LED.
According to the report, OSLON®Square compact high-power LED has stability, high reliability, long life and extremely low thermal resistance. Coupled with high-performance OSLON® SSL LED products, OSLon ®Square compact high-power LED provides a light source for Avici system, a plant lighting system.
The Avici system, manufactured by Revolution Microelectronics, lights a 9,200-square-meter grow farm at the GreenCare Collective in Millbury, Massachusetts, USA.
The Millbury Plant Farm facility requires an innovative plant lighting solution that uses a modern crop process from indoor plant tissue culture, propagation, and transplanting crops to a mobile station, with an on-demand fertilization system that cleverly manages multiple different varieties. Within the farm, each room has 24 zones that provide crops with precise, customized doses of essential nutrients to produce top quality produce.
Using the Imis Osram Plant Lighting 1W and 2W LED package product portfolio, GreenCare Collective's equipment utilizes seasonally adjustable spectral controls and advanced crop steering technology to achieve a sustained yield increase, producing an additional plant harvest each year.
In addition, the highlight output and fully editable spectrum allow plantation practitioners to focus on the production of certain plant compounds, such as increased terpenes (a naturally occurring hydrocarbon commonly found in plants), increasing yields.
OSLON® Square GH CSSRM5.24 had a radiant flux of 1068 mW at 77% electro-optical conversion efficiency (WPE), a light efficiency of 4.19 μmol /J at 700 mA, and a photon flux of 5.83 μmol /s, according to Imis. Imis Osram leds have market leading light efficiency compared to conventional high pressure sodium (HPS) lamps.
