At present, the new display industry in Chengdu and Chongqing has developed rapidly and has become the world's largest OLED production base. At present, two-thirds of the world's iPad, 50% of laptops and 10% of smartphones are manufactured in Chengdu and Chongqing.
Chen Wentao said that the new display industry is one of the key industries supporting cluster construction. At the 2022 World Display Industry Conference held in Chengdu from November 30 to December 1, Sichuan will sign the Chengdu Chongqing Economic Circle Cooperation Agreement on Promoting the High Quality Development of New Displays with Chongqing, further promote the coordinated development of Sichuan Chongqing display industry, accelerate the development of the whole industry chain covering panel, core materials and parts, infrastructure, terminal production and other links, and jointly build Chengdu Chongqing into a domestic leader Internationally renowned world-class new display industrial cluster.
Sichuan is an important cluster area of China's new display industry. In recent years, it has gathered BOE, Huike and other panel enterprises, as well as new display related supporting industries such as Jimi, China National Building Materials, Changhong Electronics, and has initially formed a new display industry manufacturing base with Chengdu and Mianyang as the dual core.
In order to build a new display industry cluster with core competitiveness, Chen Wentao pointed out that Sichuan will further improve the supply chain of the new display industry, and strive to make the local supporting rate of Sichuan's new display industry exceed 60% in three years by giving play to the advantages of the largest AMOLED panel production base in China and the resource integration ability of Chengdu BOE's "chain master" enterprises; Relying on the active layout of new display industry clusters in Chengdu, Mianyang, Meishan and other places, complying with the development trend of flexible display and ultra-high definition display, we will vigorously improve the capacity of BOE, Huike, Xinli and other leading enterprises, vigorously introduce advanced OLED production lines, guide the OLED industry chain to gather in Sichuan, and strive to build Sichuan into the world's largest OLED production base by 2025.
In addition, Sichuan will also build an innovative development ecosystem of new display industry, promote the establishment of a new display collaborative innovation center in Sichuan, further improve the independent innovation system with enterprises as the main body, market as the guide, and the combination of government, industry, education, research and use, and accelerate the construction of a new display industry ecosystem that integrates research and development, pilot testing, raw materials, parts, panel manufacturing, and complete machine integration. By 2025, Sichuan AMOLED R&D and production technology will reach the international first-class level, and the R&D and industrialization of new generation display technologies such as micro LED and laser display will keep pace with the international advanced level. TFT-LCD will occupy an important position in the national safe and controllable industrial chain.
